Boot Lacing.

Boots play can be at least a small role in almost any kinky life. Whether the boots are part of a fantasy outfit, a specific object to be fetishized or are a symbol for a role or identity almost every kinky person I know owns a pair of boots. Boot blacking is a fetish for many people and every slave I've ever trained has enjoyed worshipping my boots. I personally, wear boots almost every day and enjoy the ritual of taking care of them, or having them taken care of for me. A good pair of boots stands among my most valued possessions. Therefore it stands to reason that I also take an interest in how my boots are laced. There are many ways to lace boots and I have included a link to a site that lists over 30 different styles. The styles that interest me the most are the Straight Lacing style (British Lacing) and the Military styles.

The lacing style that seems to be most commonly used for Military boots as well as being mentioned for hiking boots is called Ladder Lacing. This is where the laces weave back and forth with each other to form a "ladder" style. This method supports the ankles very well and keeps the laces in place.

Straight Lacing (also sometimes known as European or British Lacing) is also mentioned in some MIlitary boot lacing sources as it is the easiest to cut through or remove should a boot need to come off quickly. I enjoy it for it's ease as well as the very clean, structured look it gives the boot, especially for knee-high or over the knee boots. To Straight Lace a boot the lace is run through the bottom two eyeholes and then one end is run all the way up the inside of the boot to the top eyehole while the other lace goes through all the eyeholes leaving a clean, neat "bar" pattern. Straight Lacing can also be done by criscrossing each lace on the inside of the shoe so that the front remains in the "bar" pattern but the inside has a crisscross pattern.
